I’m a fan of the Craftsman C3 line of battery powered tools. I have more of them than Sears does lately. Some of the tools come with the battery and charger whether you need it or not. I had 7 Nicad Chargers and 1 Lithium Ion charger (and the same number of batteries). I only used two of the Nicad chargers and the one Lithium charger. The other four stayed in a drawer.
I ran across this “4 door model” charger a few months ago. A LJ posted a charging station (nice, too) but this does that and more. It looks like a Klingon mother ship.
As you see, it mounts on the wall in a fairly compact space. (picture 2 above) +1
It holds four batteries of either Nicad or Lithium Ion. +1
It charges in the order that the batteries are inserted. +1
As soon as a battery reached full charge (less than 1 hour per port), it cuts the power. +1
When all mounted batteries are charged, it goes to sleep. If no batteries are removed, it will wake up every five days, test each battery and if needed top those that need it off to full power. +1
It was $69 plus another $11 for a 3 year warranty (instead of the 1 year warranty). +1
I sold four of the regular chargers (the unused ones) on Ebay for $23 each. They are the 3rd picture above.
If you are a C3 owner and have several batteries… especially a mix of Nicad and Lithium, this is the ticket. If you are not a C3 owner you’ll just need to do better next time.
The force is with ME now.
I do recommend this product.
