This morning a wonderful thing happened…
The wife and I got up and drove over to Temple, TX to meet with a local LJ'er that I met here on LJ’s.
Todd and his wife, were very gracious and even though it was cold showed us around the well equipped shop. I have to say, Todd is made of tuff stuff…. he stood out in the wind, (at home we call it a ‘Prune Wind, ‘cause it goes right through you!), in a thin shirt in 30 weather and talked wood working, while I, a good ex-North Dakota boy was all bundled up and shivering like a quaking aspen.
I took a little bit of rough cut cedar and a block of chinaberry that I had left from a limb that came down last fall.
Being the kind person he is, he allowed me to take home a nice little Craftsman planer that will work well in my shop until I can get my big Delta rebuilt.
All in all, we had a great time and hope they can come see us sometime and bring their SUV so I can fill it up with wood from my growing stock!
Thanks Todd and Company!
