My first Pizza Peel was posted on Lumberjocks a little while back. If you care to look at it, just click on “Rockbusters” Projects. It had a little story to it, as does this one. This one started out as a challenge to myself, to see if I could make as near a perfect 8 point star as possible.I did a pretty good job on the star, and decided to take it further. Now it became a square, and also a box, and I couldn’t think of a thing to do with it. The longer that I looked at it, the harder it became as what to do with it. I squared it up real good, and started to just glue on strips. I would glue on a strip, wait till the glue set enough, and then run it thru the table saw again. After a few strips, it looked as if it would make a nice cutting board. I then thought, why not add a handle, and make a fancy pizza peel. as I have a friend that I owe a great favor and he is really into making pizzas. The friend that I am talking about is none other than the son of the man that I made the first pizza peel for. He is also my daughters husband. He did me a great favor, as I recently had to put my dog of 14 years down. He runs the creamatory, and took care of all of the details, and provided me with a nice custom wood box with my dogs remains. I think that this is the least that I can do for him.
