Extending an arbor on a 3hp table saw to use dado blades

Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has had a table saw (10") and made changes to the motor so that a dado can fit on the arbor thus being able to have ample room on the thread to secure the nut.
I dont want to have to buy a new table saw as the SBH-10 from Hare & Forbes is only 3 years old and in excellent condition. Thanks:2tsup:
