If you like compressed air plumbed into your shop, this might be for you. I saw the Rapidair compressed air piping system advertised in Woodcraft as a new product and thought it sounded interesting. I like and need to use compressed air in my woodshop for nail guns, air tools and cleaning. I have been working on a remodel and expansion to my shop and I was going to put in compressed air anyway so I thought I would give this a try. The Woodcraft price I paid was $139.99. You receive 100 feet of tubing and all the parts you need to install compressed air in your shop. I would highly recommend this setup to anyone who wants compressed air in thier shop. The real selling point for me was the ease and flexibility of the install. You can mount this in the walls liike electrical wire thru the studs as I did during my expansion or on the outside walls in a completed shop. The best part of this is you can have the air outlets EXACTLY where you want them. I looked at iron pipe with threaded ends and concluded that I could have the air roughly where I wanted them (exposed) or with this system I could have them exactly where I needed the air supply. I wanted the air to drop down above my table saw, at my miter saw and at the work benches. The connectors are all push fit. The plastic tubing is 150psi max and cuts like butter at whatever length you need. I was able to go into the overhead crawl space and drop the ceiling mounts exactly where I wanted them. There are no visible pipes to be seen. If your shop is finished and you can not get inside the walls, you can still run the tubing where you want it. The company provides everything you need including mounting clamps. All of the manifolds are aluminum. They allow you to have surface mount, ceiling mount or hidden mount. I needed a connector for my 30 gallon compressor that I wanted mounted in another room for sound supression and had to call thier customer support number. They were very courteous and helpful and sent the parts I needed right away. I like this because it is out of sight and exactly where I want it. I think you will too. Oh ya, I just found the same set up in the Northern Tool catalog for $99.99. Bad for me, good for you…........
