Unique Wooden Frame (for my oil painting)

Unique Wooden Frame (for my oil painting)

Dimensions of the frame:
66’’ x 44’’ (1.5’‘thick)

One of my mom’s favorite painting that I did is actually one of my earlier abstract piece that i did back in college (Portland,OR). I rolled and brought back the painting to the Philippines so my mom can hang it in the living. She gave me the idea that since I’ve been making furniture, why not make a unique frame for it.

I still had a lot of small pieces of wood from the furnitures I’ve been making. And I kept most of the small piece of wood and when I’m free I’ve been assorting them by color and type. The concept I had for my frame is that it echoes and matches the painting.

The re-stretching, cutting the frame and adding all the details took me a total of 16 hours. This was a fun project and good band saw exercise. I’m looking forward to making more for my other paintings. Besides, making my frame for my painting probably double the value of the entire piece..
