I’ve always heard about the virtues of cleaning you saw blade when you think it’s time to get it resharpened.
Well I finally did it and ended up with a blade as good as it was when new.
I wanted a environmentally friendly cleaner to do and decided to try the degreaser I use to remove the shipping grease that comes on new tools…
This stuff worked fantastic. I used a lid from a Homedepot 5gal bucket and let the blade soak for about 2 – 5 mins. I then only had to gently brush the blade with a brass bristle brush. I was amazed at how fast this stuff work with very little effort. I went on to clean some router bits which cleaned up just as good. Best of all this stuff dilutes with water and can be rinsed down the drain.
If I remember correctly the 1gal jug cost about $12.00. Well worth the price and worth a try.
