For a variety of reasons I am limited to a choice of either of the above to replace my Triton 2000. I'm looking for advice on these (or similar items) and would appreciate any help that is available.

I would give it a miss. I think this "contractor saw" design with the overhanging motor is outdated, and wasn't very good at the time either. I have this model, it will not keep its alignment, after a couple of bevel cuts it is out of whack again. Had a look at the one in the showroom - the alignment was worse than mine !!!!??? They quoted me about $800 to align it, or $600 for a new assembly - hopefully not borrowed from the display model. Got a cabinet saw, much better mechanics, not intrinsically unstable. Hardly any more money.
