Sometimes I do stuff just because I think I can. I had some strips of sycamore and some thin resawed walnut all of which were too small to be useful so I glued up lots of pieces and made this box. And then I took the leftovers from this box and made the cross. When I was finished the resultant waste was either sawdust or less than 2” long. Box is 11 3/4”x7×4”. Patron/Grizz hinges were cut from the box offcuts. Wish I hadn’t done the walnut dowels/plugs on the cross but I had to use my new plug cutter! Box is finished with shellac, cross with lacquer. It was a lot of fun making this all work out with no leftovers.
