After all these years, I finally bought a rip blade, when I saw a good deal on Amazon. Always used combination blades before. What I really liked about the Freud LU87R010 was the thin kerf & the flat tooth grind. Always wanted flat tooth for grooves & spine joints. Blade was great. I ripped some soft Maple & Mahogony & didn’t have to joint the edges. Then when installing the blade, after maybe 20 rips, I just happened to notice the tooth you see in the photo, because it was up. I e-mailed Freud & they said return to them or retailer. Sent it to Freud ( thought it would be faster- wrong) 9/26/12, got a replacement today 10/9/12. That’s 14 days. I know they recieved it 10/2/12, & I thought someone would call or e-mail, but I had to call yesterday to find out the replacement had been sent. I love the blade, but I don’t know about Freud. First Frued tool ever. No one expressed ” sorry for your inconvenience”. No communication at all. Dissappointing. You need to check every tooth on every new blade. I sure will from now on. I certainly could have been injured if that tooth came loose. So 5 stars for the blade, not so much for Freud. Be carefull.
I am adding this 10/15/12. I used the replacement blade to cut some miter joint splines on 2 frames. Grooves were nice & clean. I resawed some 1& 1/4” stock, oak & maple, for the splines & they were perfect. Awesome, smooth, no saw marks. Wish I had bought this blade years ago.
