I have been having very good luck with a way to find vintage tools / materials on line.
I have been going to www.eastatesales.net and using the word “woodworking” in the search box.
This has paid off for me and I just wanted to pass it along.
I have found some very nice machines that have been well taken care of by old craftsman around the area.
Today i found a nice Delta drill press that runs as smooth as silk for 100 bucks and a truck full of hard woods.
The best find however was a stack of old growth Mahogany still tagged with Guatemala , these boards were 12-13 inches wide and a few 7 in wide x 2 thick and 12 feet long. ! piece is 13 wide 3 thick and 7 feet long all clear stock. i pass this tip along to because the estate sale lady was going to put it all on the burn pile. I just got very lucky i decided to do a random search the first weekend of the year.
I am sure this goes on all across the county.
By the way the drill press was listed on the web at http://www.owwm.com/photoindex/images/15570-A.jpg
Thew lady also threw in his 1938 craftsman table saw along with all his sleds miters etc. because she just did not want to move it to goodwill.
Happy hunting….!
