I am finally getting the snow I longed for the past several weeks. Here we are with several inches of fallen snow, and more lightly falling as I write this! So what better way to celebrate this event than by posting my cheery “SNOW” word art vignette that I designed and created way back in August. When I drew this design up, the sun was shining and it was toasty warm outside, but I was thinking of this fun little guy to brighten my winter days.
The letters are approximately 4.5” tall and the vignette spans about 18” when set up. I cut these two sets out of beautiful oak and yes – I painted the face of one of the sets with acrylic paint and gel staining medium! On the painted version, I used a specialty product which makes a really cool crackle finish as you see in the second picture.
Finally, for the painted version I added some subtle SPARKLES so the whole piece shimmers! It really looks awesome!
(Here’s a secret – I quietly painted a light layer of clear iridescent sparkles on the natural version too – just on the face of the snowflakes to give it a little subtle shimmer!)
