My daughter is having her fourth birthday tomorrow. She was showing me the gift bag her sister made her and asked if I would MAKE her something for her birthday. Well, what’s a Dad to do? I told her I was making her book shelf in the shop right now. She was excited about her book shelf but made it specific she wanted me to make her a TOY!! Her and her sister had a couple of crude wooden airplanes that were chewed up by the pup. So I replaced them with a quick little project of some left over oak. I got to play with some hand tools and made the project a lesson too. I wound up having to make a jig to cut the taper on the wings and leave the intersecting area of the fuselage flat. Just a quick pair of plains, no finish or real detail. Their imaginations can fill in the gaps.
Now the girls can go out in the yard and have dog fights instead of cat fights inside.
