Trestle leg table with a little modern feel. It was inspired by a table in fine woodworking a couple years back. The wood is spalted walnut that was milled on our family farm in KS, The pins are ebony. I chamfered the bottom on both ends of the table to add some interest in unseen areas. I also did a curving chamfer on the long edges (doesn’t come out in the pictures) that is deepest in the middle and tapers off as it get to the ends. I think it turned out looking amazing. the benches for this table where not finished at the time the table was so I’ve included a couple pictures of a set built for a similar table, also inspired by the same FWW issue. The finish is a wipe one varnish with at least 6 to 8 coats and could probably use 3 or 4 more, kids can be pretty hard on furniture.
