I should have known better, really I should have as this isnt the first time CT has done this.
I bought an automated welding mask there. The kind that instantly darken the second you hot the ?weld? trigger. I didn’t buy the cheapest one, I bought the best one they had, to the tune of almost 200 bucks.
Made by Lincoln (good name I think) and to be honest, the helmet is sold by the Lincoln name, but maybe not made by them. The helmet comes in one of these explosion proof, rip proof, bullet proof clear plastic containers, vapour locked???..honestly exhausting just opening the ^%$#@ thing.
Finally open it, read the directions, safety stuff, stick it in the sun to charge the solar battery??..put it on, nothing, no auto nothing, just a steady stream of clear glass. After much frustration and refusing to believe that it could possibly come without the actual working guts???..I go back to Canadian Tire, receipt in hand, and explain to the teen ager??..that it simply does not, cannot work and that I would like a refund.
The kid is just that, a kid, just doing a summer job for minimum wages, he calls the acting floor manager. She shows up, and doesn’t believe me, that it doesn’t work. She does a ?search???.nothing, then googles images of the helmet (is this actually store policy ?). In the end, she refused to refund my money despite the fact, they didn’t have another helmet, that it clearly had ZERO working parts and offered me this
An ?IN STORE CREDIT?, not just any in store credit, but the kind where I had to spend the whole amount, at the same time, on that day????..wt %$#@. I asked her that if I sold her a kitchen, and the drawers didnt open, sealed shiut. Would it be fair that I looked at you and said ?sorry, but we wont fix the drawers but feel free to drop down to the shop and spend the credit on other things, but you can only do that today??.final offer
being Canadian, I now hate the fact, that they post that on their sign, as there isnt a spot, a morsel, a nano-de, of ?Canadian? in the place.
