So I snagged a No. 5 off of ebay and low and behold the iron looked good, but upon sharpening it I notice that about one side of the blade, about a 3/8” section from one side, is not even with the rest of the blade. It isn’t chipped, and there is no evidence that the iron was dropped onto a hard surface on the corner of the blade.
Conceivably, if I sharpen it for long enough the blade should even up right? Again, no chips, and no signs of destruction. Yet I would not go so far as to say one side it beveled because it does not look intentional.
Thoughts?
