200 year old oak logs

My Oak. 15’ long better than 3’ diameter harvested from my daughter’s yard.
Last winter I had this:

Now I have finally cut the last into cants and slplit most of them off.

Don’t be fooled by the scale those cants are better than 6” thick.

One more job of work breaking that last couple of cants away form each other.

Here’s the dilemma
My garage is jam full of Siberian Elm I harvested from the property.
I’m flush with Elm. Crowded with Elm. This fall I’m building my dining table from massive slabs of Elm
It’s a very pretty wood.

The oak I have plans for also. Outdoor deck furniture maybe a classier work bench than the rough stuff I’ve used for decades. An entertainment center mixed with Elm – - Lots of things.

So here is the deal I got almost 8000 pounds of Oak It is still wet in side. The saw dust was not soggy like green wood but still it was too wet to suggest usability any time soon.
I’ve learned some things about drying Oak. It likes to be painted all over and dried S-L-O—W-L-Y.
Otherwise it’s surface checks galore

I’m thinking of painting it with latex and stickering it right where it is and covering it with a poly tarp or three.

Any one seasoned Oak this way?
