This was my second wood working project that I made. The sides and slats are all made of white wood but I am not sure what kind of wood the actual bench is. Houses were being built in my subdivision and this piece was being throw away so I decided what the heck I should try and make a bench out of it. I finished it with 4 coats of polyurethane.
