Too dam hot to go outside this week ..several days over 100 degrees …made for a good excuse to stay all day in the shop( like I need an excuse to be in the shop) therefore I celebrated the 4th of July with my tools.
This box is Zebrawood with Wenge accents for the handle and trays. Thr dividers in the trays are dovetailed. I like the look of the mini dovetails and the strength they add.
The box and 2 trays are lined with red velvet and the finish is lacquer.
I built an extra air cleaner to help with the dust since grinding these boxes creates an outrageous amount of dust.
Those A/C squirrel cage fan units are perfect for this as many of you know. I had one that the motor gave out and quickly realized that I had to replace it. I had 2 extra fan blower units I acquired a while back and it only took a couple of hours to build a case for one of them. The plywood box I had for the old one was the wromg sixe for the working motors.
